THE #1 HACK TO REDUCE BOOB SWEAT
BOOB SWEAT CAN BE PROBLAMATIC
Regardless of size or shape, boob sweat is a universal experience, but when it’s excessive, it has the potential to ruin even the best of days. If it is not properly managed, boob sweat can lead to:
- Excess odor from bacteria and moisture
- Itching, irritation, chafing and friction
- Rashes, including intertrigo (a.k.a. moisture rash)
- Bacterial, yeast and fungal infections
WHY DOES BOOB SWEAT HAPPEN?
Although most of us hate sweating, it serves a very natural and biological purpose that is important to keep in mind when looking to managing it. In general, sweat regulates body temperature and boob sweat is no different. For a typical adult, body temperature can range from 97°F to 99°F (36.1°C to 37.2°C).
When body temperature rises, your central nervous system triggers your sweat glands to begin the process of sweating to cool off. When sweat evaporates, the surface of the skin cools, therefore regulating your body temperature.
THE “GOLDEN TRIANGLE” EFFECT
Boobs don’t necessarily sweat more than other areas of the body; however, their shape creates the ideal environment for excess sweat accumulation.
Your breasts are like two mountains with a valley in between – this is what I call the “golden triangle”. Gravity leads the sweat from the chest, down the breastbone, into the “valley” making sweat settle in the skin folds underneath your boobs where they meet your torso.
The moisture in this area gets trapped more easily and doesn’t evaporate as quickly as other parts of the body might.
ANTIPERSPIRANTS ARE NOT THE BEST CHOICE FOR BOOB SWEAT
Some people may recommend using antiperspirants to stop boob sweat, but I always caution against using antiperspirants with aluminum chloride on the underarms and the rest of the body as it has been deemed a suspicious ingredient. While there is little scientific evidence that links aluminum chloride to breast cancer or Alzheimer’s disease, the long-term health effects from aluminum are essentially unknown.
Fortunately, there is a way to manage excess boob sweat, without relying on antiperspirants.
USE A NATURAL POWDER TO ABSORB SWEAT
The key to managing boob sweat is to use a natural body powder, like the sweat powder, to absorb the excess moisture, and create a barrier to prevent chafing and friction. Inspired by highly absorbent athletic chalk, the sweat powder is made with Thessalite 6® Powder Technology that stores excess moisture inside the particles leaving the skin’s surface dry.
BENEFITS OF THE SWEAT POWDER
- Absorbs excess sweat and controls odor
- Talc-free, natural and safe formulation
- Reduces friction and chafing
- Targeted brush applicator; portable and ideal for on-the-go touchups
