3 SIGNS YOU NEED AN ARMPIT DETOX

Whether you’re a natural deodorant user or new to the world of aluminum-free deodorants, chances are you’ve heard the term ‘armpit detox’ before. But what does an armpit detox do and why might you need one?

Well, there’s nothing more frustrating than going about your day only to realize your deodorant has failed to keep you odor-free. Everyone has experienced body odor at some point in their lives, it’s one of those universal “human discomforts”. However, there are ways to prevent this from happening, and an armpit detox can be your secret weapon against this.

WHAT IS MEANT BY ARMPIT "DETOX"?

Before getting into the nitty gritty of it, I want to clarify that the term “armpit detox” is not to be confused with an internal detox that can only occur when the liver, kidneys, lymph nodes and/or spleen filter toxins that enter the body.

An armpit detox can be the key to tackling the root cause of body odor issues by eliminating odor-causing bacteria and helps the body get rid of impurities that have built up on the surface of the skin. The term armpit detox is referring to a topical, or external detoxification to remove impurities on the skin’s surface and buildup from pores.

3 SIGNS YOU NEED AN ARMPIT DETOX

1. YOU ARE NEW TO NATURAL DEODORANT

Switching from antiperspirant to natural deodorant is no easy feat and science has shown that the body goes through a process to adjust to this change. Many who switch to natural deodorant experience high odor levels after the first week and give up because they don’t think it’s working or think this excess odor is permanent.

After learning about this purging phase when I developed my charcoal deodorants, I wanted to make sure new natural deodorant users knew what to expect when transitioning and go to give them time to work… I called this armpit detox The Stages of Detox.
