FAQ's

The dryness and irritation from conventional makeup wipes comes down to what's actually in them. Most mainstream wipes rely on alcohol or high concentrations of synthetic surfactants to dissolve makeup fast — and they work, but they take your skin's natural oils and moisture with them. The tight, stripped feeling afterward isn't The Vitamin Cleanse Cloths are formulated around the opposite principle. Using natural oils and organic honey

a natural humectant, meaning it actively draws moisture into the skin while you cleanse rather than pulling  it out. Glycerin reinforces that effect, maintaining the skin's hydration level through the cleansing process rather than depleting it. The result is skin that feels softer after use than before — which is genuinely not something conventional wipes can claim.

The key distinction is in what the cloth is doing to your skin versus what a conventional makeup wipe does. Standard makeup wipes — including most of the drugstore and prestige options — rely on synthetic surfactants, preservatives, and alcohol to break down and remove makeup. They're removing things but leaving your skin stripped, mildly irritated, and coated in residue that requires rinsing.

The Vitamin Cleanse Cloths are an actual cleanser delivered via a bamboo cloth: the jojoba oil and sunflower seed oil break down makeup and SPF at the lipid level (the same mechanism as an oil cleanser), the honey acts as a humectant that draws moisture to the skin while you cleanse, and the glycerin leaves the barrier intact. The cloth itself — 100% unbleached bamboo — is softer than synthetic wipe material and won't drag or irritate while you're working. You finish with cleaner skin, not stripped skin.

The formula is designed to leave behind the beneficial ingredients (jojoba, honey, glycerin) that your skin needs after cleansing, not a residue that needs to be neutralised or washed away. If you use serums, treatments, or moisturiser as part of your routine, apply them after the cloth as you normally would. But if you're using this as a no-fuss evening cleanse or a travel or gym situation where a full skincare routine isn't happening, the cloth alone leaves your skin in good condition — clean, softened, not tight or reactive. That's the product's essential appeal: it genuinely stands alone.

Each cloth is pre-saturated with an exact, consistent amount of formula — and will stay wet without drying out for up to two years unlike a pack of 30 which dry out quickly within 30 days when they are exposed to air.   The individual wipes are less wasteful due to the absence of a plastic closure that most wipes use to protect against air.

Yes — the cloths have been specifically tested for eye irritation and are safe for use around the eyes, including removing mascara and eye shadow. The formula contains no alcohol, no synthetic fragrance, and no harsh surfactants that sting or cause the redness typical of conventional makeup removal around the eye area. For waterproof mascara: press the cloth gently against the eye for 5–10 seconds to let the oils penetrate and break down the waterproof formula before wiping, rather than rubbing immediately. Waterproof formulas need a brief moment of oil contact to release cleanly. One cloth is typically enough for a full face including eyes — start with the eyes first so you're using the freshest, most saturated part of the cloth in the most sensitive area.

Natural plant alcohols are an exception – they will not dry your skin.Benzyl alcohol is a naturally occurring oil with antimicrobial properties.Cetyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol from plant oils with emulsifying properties.

The oils in this formula — jojoba and sunflower — are among the most non-comedogenic plant oils used in skincare. Jojoba is technically a liquid wax ester that closely mimics the skin's own sebum; it doesn't clog pores but rather helps dissolve the oxidised oil and debris inside them. Sunflower seed oil is high in linoleic acid, the fatty acid most commonly deficient in acne-prone skin, and it supports the skin barrier without contributing to comedone formation. The concern that "oil causes breakouts" is a genuine misconception for these specific oils — that fear is better directed at heavy occlusive oils like coconut oil or mineral oil, which can sit on the surface and contribute to clogging. For acne-prone skin, the more relevant question is whether you follow up the cloth with acne treatments or retinoids, which you can continue to use as normal after cleansing.

The cloths are free of synthetic fragrance, not free of all scent. Linalool is a naturally occurring aromatic compound found in hundreds of plants — including the citrus peel oil and any botanical extracts in the formula. It's present here as a component of the natural botanical ingredients, not as an added synthetic perfume. "Parfum" on a INCI ingredient list can refer to either synthetic or natural fragrance; in this formula it refers to the certified natural botanical fragrance blend, formulated in compliance with IFRA (International Fragrance Association) natural fragrance standards. The resulting scent is a light citrus note — clean and fresh, not perfumed or heavy. If you have a documented linalool sensitivity or reactivity to citrus-derived compounds specifically, patch-test on the inside of your wrist before use on the face.

Yes — and both conditions are specifically relevant here. Eczema-prone skin requires the absence of the ingredients that most commonly trigger flares: synthetic fragrance, alcohol, SLS-type harsh surfactants, and preservatives like formaldehyde-releasers or parabens. The Vitamin Cleanse Cloths contain none of these. The formula is dermatologist-tested and the bamboo cloth is gentler than cotton on inflamed or reactive skin. For rosacea, the main concern is ingredients that cause vasodilation or increase skin reactivity — again, the absence of alcohol and synthetic fragrance makes this a significantly lower-risk option than conventional wipes. The one note for very reactive rosacea: the formula contains citrus peel oil, which in rare cases can cause sensitivity in extremely reactive skin. Patch-test if you're in an active flare.
